Ginx TV expands footprint into Sweden

September 26, 2013 14.58 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Ginx TV has expanded its footprint into Sweden by signing a distribution agreement with Com Hem reaching over 1.7m subscribers in total.

The channel will be available as part of Com Hem’s new TiVo offer, from October 7. Ginx, the world’s only international channel dedicated to video-gaming and video-gaming culture, is growing its footprint around the world and is fully localised in over 40 territories and 9 languages, and this is its first launch in Sweden.

“We are delighted to be increasing our distribution in a key market such as Sweden, and with that country’s leading platform in Com Hem,” commented Ginx CEO, Michiel Bakker.

“Video-gaming is a mainstream activity in Sweden, and it is fantastic that we are able to bring our channel to gamers there. Our shows highlight the latest games and provide news, reviews and behind the scenes insights for fans of videogames and we hope they resonate with our new viewers.”

“We are very pleased to be adding Ginx to our offer to our offering. We aim to offer channels that meet every individual interest, and we are confident that GINX will find a loyal audience within our customer base,” added Asanga Gunatillaka, Chief Product Officer at Com Hem.
