Pay-TV services were received in almost 60% of households in Lithuania at the end of the second quarter.
Data produced by the country’s Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) shows that there were a total of 731,900 subscribers, equivalent to 59.4% of all households, watching cable and MMDS, DVB-T, DTH or IPTV, or 0.1% fewer than three months earlier.
Revenues from pay-TV services amounted to LTL51.36 million (€14.87 million) in the second quarter, or 0.6% lower than in Q1.
Cable services had 432,700 subscribers as of the end of June, or 0.5% fewer than three months earlier, while the MMDS total fell by 3% q-o-q to 16,500.
The CRA also notes that at the end of the first (not second) quarter 408,100, or 55.8%, of all pay-TV subscribers used digital services.
Of these, 125,400 opted for cable or MMDS, 109,800 for IPTV and 72,000 DTT.
However, in a release the incumbent telco Teo notes that IPTV has now overtaken digital cable and is now used by 26.9% of digital TV homes
