The deal that brings Netflix to Virgin subscribers in the UK was signed before Liberty Global took over the British cabler.
According to Neil Hunt, Chief Production Officer at Netflix, the agreement to include Netflix on Virgin’s TiVo boxes was already in place before the takeover.
Hunt stresses that Netflix wants to be available on as many devices as possible and hints that a deal to bring the streaming service on Liberty Global’s Horizon boxes is subject of talks.
Meanwhile, consumers in the Netherlands, where Netflix has launched on September 11, are finding that the service is not available on all Philips and Sony TV sets. Especially older sets seem to be affected as they are not able to stream the service.
