Technicolor has held one of its major contracts with the extension of its DIRECTV set-top supply deal for a further three years.
The French company has been a supplier to the US DBS platform for the past 20 years.
“Technicolor has been a strategic business partner for DIRECTV for over two decades and has been a supplier in every set-top box product category available for DIRECTV,” said Barbara Bessolo, SVP and head of Technicolor’s Connected Home Americas. “We are honored to continue that relationship.”
“Technicolor has consistently delivered the reliable, high quality products we need in order to remain at the forefront of the satellite television industry,” said Henry Derovanessian, senior vice president, Hardware Engineering for DIRECTV. “We look forward to continuing our relationship and our leadership position as we enter new frontiers of innovation in the delivery of the best television viewing experience to our subscribers throughout the United States and Latin America.”
The company has been variously branded as RCA and Thomson.
