Gábor Mátrai has had his mandate as deputy chairman of Hungary’s National Media and Communications Authority (NMHH) terminated by mutual consent.
Mátrai joined the then newly established regulator in 2010, accepting an invitation from its founding chairman Annamária Szalai.
He played an important role in guiding Hungary’s transition to digital broadcasting, which is now in its final stages, but made the decision to leave the NMHH following Szalai’s recent death.
Prior to joining NMHH, Mátrai held a senior position at UPC Hungary.
