BT is planning a live Ultra-HD test to coincide with IBC 2013. The broadcast of the Saracens and Gloucester rugby match on Sunday September 15th will be captured as a multicamera production, shot in 4K, and delivered over satellite.
The project is a co-operation between BT, Intelsat, Sony, Ericsson and Newtec stands. Delegates in Amsterdam will be able to enjoy the match on the Intelsat, Sony and Ericsson stands.
The transmission is one of a number of 4K tests that will be carried out at IBC. These include demonstrations involving SES, Eutelsat, Hispasat, the DVB and Sky Deutschland.
On September 2, West Ham and Stoke City became the first-ever live UK event to be broadcast in Ultra HD in a test run by BSkyB.
