Poland’s Telewizja Polsat has completed the acquisition of Polskie Media, the broadcaster of the channels TV4 and TV6, for a combined fee of PLN99 million (€23.1 million).
At the same time, it has also sold RS TV to EmiTel for PLN45.5 million. Telewizja Polsat, which is part of Cyfrowy Polsat, whose interests also include the DTH platform of the same name, financed the acquisition of Polskie Media from its own funds.
The deal will help further strengthen its position in the Polish TV marketplace, both in terms of reach and ad revenues.
The sale of RS TV will meanwhile help the company to partially pay off a loan. Both deals were originally announced in March this year.
