Close to one million homes in Hungary now subscribe to broadband cable services.
At the same time, Magyar Telekom’s T-Home remains the leading provider of fixed broadband internet in the country, accounting for over one in three subscribers.
Data produced by the regulator NMHH shows that there were a total of 912,891 cable broadband subscriptions as of the end of July, based on data obtained from market leaders, covering 82.8% of such subscriptions.
Of these, 352,484 were via DOCSIS 3.0, while the total number of FTTx subscriptions amounted to 339,612.
The xDSL total, based on data supplied by market leaders claiming a 98% of all subscriptions, stood at 768,726.
T-Home’s share of the fixed broadband internet market was 35.5%, with UPC (21.8%) and Digi (13.7%) and Invitel (9.7%) and Tarr (2.6%) claiming the next highest spots.
