The Bundeskartellamt has asked the European Commission to rule on the merger between Vodafone and KDG.
Andreas Mundt, president of the Bundeskartellamt, told the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung that they would not launch procedures for examining the merger between Kabel Deutschland and Vodafone Germany.
The purchase price of Kabel Deutschland, including assumption of debt, adds up to around EUR11 billion euros bringing the merger within the competence of the EU.
The acquisition of E-Plus by Telefonica, however, will be examined by the Kartellamt.
