Germany’s largest cable operator Kabel Deutschland will appeal the decision by the Berlin court with regards to rights payment due to private broadcasters.
In an emailed statement, the operator wrote to Broadband TV News “Kabel Deutschland takes note of the court decision. We are waiting for the written reasons of the judgement. We think that the decision is wrong on the merits and we will appeal against it. KD will proceed to the next level of jurisdiction.”
Earlier this week, the district court of Berlin has ordered Kabel Deutschland to pay EUR45,760,836.97 to rights society VG Media. As expected, the operator has nope decided to appeal the decision.
