Magyar Telekom continues to gain IPTV subscribers at an impressive rate, while the take-up of its satellite TV services seems to have stabilised.
The latest set of results published by the company show that it ended the second quarter with 354,242 IPTV subscribers, or 28.2% more than the 276,344 posted a year earlier.
On the other hand, the number of DTH subscribers rose by a more modest 4.9%, from 286,374 to 300,397, over the same period.
The telco’s cable subscriber total continued to fall and stood at 200,637 as of the end of Q2, with the total number of TV customers amounting to 855,276.
Blended ARPU for TV services amounted to HUF3,102 (€10.35), compared to HUF3,038 a year earlier.
In other markets, Magyar Telekom had 80,320 IPTV customers in Macedonia at the end of Q2, compared to 50,831 a year earlier, while in Montenegro its IPTV subscriber total rose from 50,388 to 56,677 over the same period.
Magyar Telekom’s total revenues in Q2 amounted to HUF156.9 billion, up by 7.9% on a year earlier, while net income rose from HUF10.7 billion to HUF12.2 billion
