Orange Romania has signed an agreement with MTG’s Viasat Broadcasting for the carriage of the movie channel TV1000 and factual channels Viasat Explorer, Viasat Nature and Viasat History HD on the DTH platform Orange TV.
Orange TV, which was recently launched and expects to have 300,000 subscribers by the end of 2015, will carry the channels in its international HD package.
Commenting on the agreement, Aleks Habdank, COO of MTG’s Pay-TV Emerging Markets, said “Orange Romania is very well positioned to deliver a unique and innovative high quality HD pay-TV and multiscreen offer and we are naturally pleased to be supporting this exciting development in the market and that all of our available channel brands will be part of Orange TV. There is a growing demand for HD, multiscreen and catch-up in Romania, and CEE as a whole, and now more viewers will be able to experience our factual entertainment programmes in crystal clear HD quality and Dolby Digital sound on multiple devices when they want.”
