The leading Latvian cable operator Baltcom has begun offering electricity alongside telecom services to its customers.
Commenting on the move, board member Gints Kirsteins said it was unique in Latvia and even on a European level.
However, it was also understandable, given that the two are closely related in nature and have a high degree of similarity in service delivery and customer service orientation.
Research undertaken by Baltcom in cooperation with Snapshots found that four-fifths of population would be willing to buy electricity from a telecom operator if it could offer better terms than their existing supplier.
Baltcom’s cheapest electricity and telecom offer consists of 75KW of electricity, digital TV and 250 Mbps and costs LVL20.03 (€28.47) a month to receive.
The most comprehensive one, costing LVL23.90 a month, includes 100KW of electricity, digital TV, 250 Mbps and telephony.
