Telenor Satellite has reported an increased household reach in Central & East Europe.
Buoyed by strong growth from DTH operator UPC, the Thor satellite fleet at one degree West, Telenor now reaches 8.8 million homes in the region.
There has also been growth for occasional use services on Thor 10-02, while third party capacity has been used for coverage of major sporting and news events over the last quarter.
However, revenues have been affected by the retirement of the Thor II satellite in January 2013.
Satellite recorded a second quarter profit of NOK 100 million, slightly down on the NOK 102 million restated figure for the second quarter of 2012.
Revenues at Canal Digital fell slightly to NOK 246 million from NOK 248 million as subscriber erosion continued to impact on the Nordic DTH platform.
The 3,000 subscriber loss was offset by ARPU growth to NOK 362 a month. There are bow 934,000 subs in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland, compared to 952,000 one year ago.
Technology wing Conax saw a 14% sales improvement on the back of increased smart card sales.
