Romania’s National Audiovisual Council (CNA) has withdrawn the licences for three channels operated by the media group Realitatea-Catavencu.
According to local reports, this was due to the channels – CineStar, ActionStar and ComedyStar – having been off air for over 90 days.
The three channels obtained their licences in September 2008 and secured distribution on Romtelcom’s DTH platform Dolce three months later.
In due course they also had carriage on UPC and RCS&RDS platforms, but this was cut back as Realitatea-Catavencu, insolvent since September 2011, ran into financial difficulties.
