Content from the Canal+ VOD service Canalplay Infinity is to be made available on Apple TV in France. The pay-TV group is the first in France to offer its content through the €99 device and follows a similar deal in the United States with HBO.
Around 5,000 titles will be made available on the platform including movies from a variety of French and international studios that include Warner, Gaumont, Sony, Disney, M6, Pathe and the BBC. Popular TV series including Castle, Grey’s Anatomy, Gossip Girl, Breaking Bad and Mad Men will also be available as will popular kids brands Dora the Explorer, Pokemon and Spongebob Squarepants.
The €9.99 per month subscription also extends to second screen devices.
In a statement Canal+ said this demonstrated its willingness to open its VOD offering across all media including connected TV devices, tablets, computers and game consoles.
