Farncombe has launched its OpenTest automated consumer, licence-free digital TV device testing solution, based on the MiriATE assets the company acquired in 2012.
The platform is designed to be the most cost-effective test solution for any size platform in any configuration.
With a simple cost model and no software licence fees, it requires only a fraction of the capital investment needed for similar offerings, while operating costs are half the industry average.
Farncombe has enhanced the former MiriATE product with a number of new features including AV Jukebox, AV Capture and serial-to-Ethernet output. Farncombe has also added advanced support services, training and a customer support portal that brings the user community together.
Commenting on the launch, Gary Marshall, managing partner for Engineering Services at Farcombe, said: “Although we have been long-term users of the software ourselves, since the acquisition we have consulted extensively with customers and collaborated with them to develop a long-term strategy for OpenTest that will meet future needs.
“We remain a services based business and our strategy with OpenTest is simple: by offering a cost-effective automated test system we will make OpenTest the premier test product in the market. We will also take advantage of our expert knowledge of test automation to provide leading test automation service.”
OpenTest already lists BT, DTG Broadcasting, Foxtel and Ziggo among its clients.
