MultiChoice Africa, in partnership with Thema, has launched TCV – Cape Verde Television, a Portuguese language channel.
The new channel is now available for DStv subscribers in Angola and Mozambique on all Portuguese packages.
TCV – Cape Verde Television is a public service channel broadcast from the archipelago of Cape Verde “in order to strengthen its national identity and forge a closer bond with the Cape Verdean diaspora. The channel’s line-up includes a wide range of shows, such as TV news, sports, culture, music, entertainment, series, and children’s programmes.”
“This channel is one more example of MultiChoice’s commitment to offer its subscribers a large volume of content in Portuguese, but it also serves to help Cape Verdeans living abroad to remain in touch with their country’s culture,” said Nico Meyer, CEO of MultiChoice Africa, in a statement.
The international TCV channel is a project from Paris-based Thema, who helped the broadcaster to make an international version of the channel to be distributed across the world. See also an interview with Thema CEO François Thiellet on the project in Broadband TV News passim.
