Almost three-quarters (73%) of viewers in Poland use a second screen while watching TV.
The majority of these (44%), said Tomasz Zuranski, CEO, Vectra, opt for a computer, with the remainder choosing smartphones (19%), other TV sets (7%), tablets (5%) and other devices (25%).
He added that at the same time viewers’ needs stay the same, being focused on attractive price (30%), number of channel (28%), HD (20%), PVR (9%), and others (13%). Zuranski spoke at some length about Vectra, which is Poland’s third largest cable operator, and its plans for the future.
This autumn, for instance, they include the launch of VOD, OTT via STB, TV on line, consisting of 30 live channels and an increase in its HD channel total from a current 44 to 50.
Zuranski said the number of Vectra online visits had more than doubled over a year to 120,000 this April.
The operator has only been present in the lucrative Warsaw market but already has over 100,000 subscribers there.
It mobile internet total meanwhile stand at around 30,000.
