SPI International and Vestel have joined forces to bring the Filmbox Live service to the Smart TV Center found on TV sets manufactured and sold by Vestel in Turkey.
Speaking about Filmbox Live at the Digital TV in CEE conference in Krakow, Berk Uziyel, director of Filmbox International, said that it is available on 12 platforms in eight countries.
The service includes 80 apps, 30 channels and a library containing 8,000 titles.
Launched only around a year ago, it is enjoying 100TB of traffic each month. Uziyel said Filmbox Live is a complementary service for people who receive pay-TV.
He also revealed that Superbox would soon launch in the Czech Republic, followed by other markets.
Uziyel added that Filmbox Live is mostly used via smart TVs, especially in CEE.
The positioning is also different, depending on the market. In the US, for instance, the company offers more art house and thematic channels, while in CEE there are more blockbusters, A level theatrical and thematic channels and art house channels in Western Europe.
