Romania’s Ministry of Information Society (MSI) has announced that a selection process for the operators of five national DTT multiplexes will start before June 17, 2015.
Four of the multiplex licences (three UHF and one VHF) will be awarded by the regulator ANCOM before this date, with the possibility of them transmitting commercial TV services afterwards.
The fifth multiplex, the licence for which will also be awarded by ANCOM at the same time, will employ the UHF band and have to cover 90% of the population and 80% of the territory of Romania by the end of 2016.
