English Club TV looks to Asia

June 19, 2013 07.06 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

English Club TV has extended its reach in South Korea by entering into a partnership with AVA Entertainment.

This follows agreements it announced at the beginning of this month with AK Entertainment and EU-Media and builds on its coverage in the pan-Asian region through the MEASAT 3A satellite, which it has used since November 1 last year.

Commenting on the agreement, Andrew Semchenko, CEO of English Club TV, said: “We are happy to finalise our partnerships with so reputable company as AVA Entertainment. We feel a big interest to English Club TV channel and its content and hope for extension of English Club TV family in South Korea as well.

“Production of educational content is a big responsibility for us but we are proud to get a positive feedback and constantly supply interesting and useful products on the market. Distribution activity in South Korea is our third challenge after Singapore and Malaysia and we are continuing to support people in the field of English language learning on Asian market.”

Justin Kim, AVA Entertainment’s CEO, added: “We are happy to work with English Club TV as our new business partner. Based on our distribution experiences in new media such as IPTV, VOD, apps etc., we believe there are many things we develop the English educational market in Korea.

“We believe their content is suitable for Korean family from kids to adults. We will step by step extend the English language market in Korea. We will start building Korean Web and providing the service to B2B (Schools, Centers, Companies, IPTV VOD operators) and B2C. We expect there are many opportunities in the field of English language leaning in Korean market.”
