Smartclip signs Philips smart TV deal

June 17, 2013 08.40 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Smartclip, part of Adconion Media, will monetise all ad inventory on the Philips/TP Vision smart TV platform.

Smartclip will deliver advertisements on the Philips Smart TV portal homepage and sub-pages, such as the App Gallery and to the Smart TV ecosystem. TP Vision now gives advertisers the opportunity to reach the Philips Smart TV audience via standardised and ad-server based digital advertising. The partnership covers the Philips Smart TV offering in Western Europe and Russia.

“We are confident that the partnership with smartclip will bring us closer to the international advertising community and that our Smart TV platform will bring added value for brands,” said Albert Mombarg Head of Smart TV at TP Vision, “We are convinced that the advantages of the Connected TV – self-determined entertainment – will change the way consumers watch TV, reducing linear TV consumption in favour of demand content.”

Jean-Pierre Fumagalli, CEO at smartclip, commented, “We are proud to be working together with TP Vision on such an international basis. This partnership significantly expands our inventory and will give advertisers the possibility to reach their target groups on Connected TV with considerable reach – across different content options and on the platform itself.”

Smartclip has already deals in place with Samsung and LG Electronics.
