Johan Dennelind has been appointed the president and CEO of TeliaSonera.
He will assume his new position on September 1 but will be available for the company from the beginning of next month.
Per-Arne Blomquist will remain as active CEO until September 1 and then return to his role as executive VP and CFO of TeliaSonera.
Dennelind has held several positions with the telecom industry, most recently as CEO of Vodacom International, based in South Africa.
Commenting on the appointment, Marie Ehrling, TeliaSonera’s chairman, said: “I am delighted that Johan Dennelind will be joining TeliaSonera. Johan Dennelind brings with him almost 20 years of experience from the telecommunication industry and has during his time at Telenor and most recently at Vodacom proven that he can successfully lead organizations in significant change processes within an international environment. With Per-Arne Blomquist now returning to his role as Executive Vice President and CFO we are securing continuity in the business whilst through Johan Dennelind also providing a fresh start.”
