A+E Networks has appointed Izabella Wiley to the newly create role of general manager for Poland.
At the same time, the company, which is a joint venture between A+E Networks and BSkyB, has opened an office in Warsaw.
Wiley, who before joining A+E Networks worked as a general manager at Viacom International Media Networks, will oversee A+E Networks brand portfolio in the Polish market.
She will report directly to A+E Networks UK MD Tom Davidson and her appointment is effective immediately.
Commenting on the appointment, Davidson said: “Poland is a key priority for A+E Networks and we’re excited by the future opportunities which will come from establishing our new team in Warsaw. Izabella will be instrumental in planning and driving strategy for growth of our portfolio of channels across Poland and delivering strong return on investment.”
Wiley said: “A+E Networks is renowned for producing high quality productions and for inventing many new television genres. Last year in Poland, A+E Networks’ channels were amongst the fastest growing in the market. I would like to expand the scale of HISTORY and CI Polsat and offer Polish viewers engaging, first-class programming, including shows produced locally. I also believe A+E Networks has other brands in their portfolio which would interest the Polish audience.”
Also joining the team in Poland, reporting to Wiley, is Agnieszka Szozda, head of marketing & communications. Szozda is responsible for driving all consumer, trade and digital marketing activities for the channels, including close cooperation with distribution agency Program Sp. z o.o.
