Cloud-based TV Everywhere platform Magine is launching a beta version of its service in Germany.
Beta-registration for the service is now open on the company’s website www.magine.com . Talks are going on with various broadcasters to launch the subscription-based service in the German market.
The service will be available across all kinds of devices, including tablets, smart phones, laptops and smart TVs. Magine was officially introduced at this year’s MIPTV to an international audience.
Magine First Edition was launched last March in Sweden with public broadcaster SVT on board as well as the private channels from TV4. International channels in the Swedish market include CNN International, BBC, Eurosport, National Geographic, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.
Michael Werner, chairman of Magine said about the beta launch in Germany: “Magine re-invents television. It’s not only about watching TV any platform, but also a better way of viewing. Two months ago, the service was launched in our home market of Sweden and has proved a huge success there. Germany is an extremely important market for us and we look forward toworking together with the most important content providers in the country.”
Following the launch in Germany, Magine is set to launch in Spain later this year. Currently, technical tests are going on in Norway and the UK. More launches are in the pipeline before the end of the year.
