Digitürk starts Motive technology rollout

May 29, 2013 11.28 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The Turkish satellite broadcaster Digitürk has begun to provide set-top boxes that include Motive Television’s Anytime Anywhere technology to consumers on a commercial basis.

It is estimated on a conservative basis that in the next 2-3 years at least 100,000 of Digitürk’s 2.5 million plus subscribers will receive set-top boxes with Motive’s technology.

Commenting on the development, Leonard Fertig, CEO of Motive, said: “The commercial deployment by Digitürk of services that use Motive’s technology is an important milestone for our Company, marking the second major client (joining Mediaset in Italy) using Television Anytime Anywhere in a broad commercial use. Digitürk is the first user of Motive’s patented Television Anytime Anywhere software by a satellite broadcaster (DTH) and paves the way for implementation by other operators in the satellite pay television industry, particularly in the emerging markets of Eastern Europe, Middle East, Latin America, Africa, and Asia.

“Digitürk is respected as a technology leader and its selection of Motive’s technology platform signals a vote of confidence to the Company and its unique software based advanced content solutions by the satellite pay-TV industry.”
