VOD service Viewster has signed partnerships with Shine Group, Starz Digital Media, ALL3MEDIA and KBS, to offer 240 hours of new TV series.
This content package represents 240 total hours of new programming, including British drama Mayday that originally premiered on BBC and coming-of-age series Skins (exclusive for Germany and Australia); popular Korean teen series Boys Over Flowers; and cult American programmes for outside the US from Starz like Head Case, Gravity and Hollywood Residential (for the UK and Australia).
The primary markets that will be able to access this content via Viewster.com soon are the US (ALL3MEDIA, KBS Media), the UK (ALL3MEDIA, Starz Digital Media), Germany (ALL3MEDIA) and Australia (ALL3MEDIA, Starz Digital Group, Shine Group).
“We are making a significant new investment in content that we can provide on an ad-supported basis and that is also attractive to our young and growing audience across the globe that prefers on-demand over appointment viewing,” said Kai Henniges, Viewster CEO.
“As an international broadcast content programmer, our approach to each regional audience is different. In the United States, we follow a multi-niche approach with in-demand series from Europe, Asia and other regions. Our U.K audience receives an ever-increasing library of national and international top titles. In Australia and the German-speaking countries, we strongly count on U.S. and U.K. titles that cannot be easily found otherwise, and in some cases, are even exclusive to Viewster.”
