Orange has secured a licence to operate a DTH platform in Romania.
Local reports say the country’s National Audiovisual Council (CNA) voted unanimously to grant the licence, which envisages the platform distributing 99 channels, of which 29 will be in HD, and have an estimated 50,000 subscribers.
Once up and running, Orange TV will operate in a highly competitive Romanian DTH market already served by RCS&RDS’s Digi, Romtelecom’s Dolce and UPC’s Focus Sat.
