The Lithuanian incumbent TEO is giving subscribers of its Interactive GALA TV service the option of choosing their own package of favourite TV channels.
For LTL6 (€1.73) a month, they will be able to select any six of the 27 channels currently available in the extra channel packages for their own ‘My package’.
Interactive GALA TV’s basic package currently consists of over 50 popular channels.
However, around a third of its subscribers also opt to receive extra thematic packages dedicated to cinema, entertainment, children, sports, popular science, news, HD and 3D channels.
A survey undertaken by 3Vision has shown that of 70 European pay-TV operators, excluding those who offer premium and niche services, only 14% offered their users the possibility to choose the TV channel packaging.
