Google has launched its Google Play Music service during its I/O conference in San Francisco and is set to take on Spotify and the yet to be announced Apple iRadio.
Google Play Music All Access will be subscription based and after a free trial period, a monthly charge of $9.99 is due or $7.99 if people subscribe before the end of June.
Initially, Google Play Music All Access is only accessible from the US, but the service is expected to launch in other territories during the next few months. At launch, Google Play Music is for Android devices only.
According to Google’s android blog, “You can create a radio station from any song or artist you love, browse recommendations from our expert music team or explore by genre. And when millions of songs just aren’t enough, Google Play Music lets you combine our collection with your own collection. You can store 20,000 songs for free in the cloud and listen to them alongside the All Access catalog.”
