Cyfrowy Polsat’s ipla is now the most popular video-on-demand (VOD) service in Poland.
According to the results of the most recent Megapanel PBI/Gemius study, it had 3.2 million views in March, with 2.35 million being through an app and 1.11 million via www,ipla.tv.
This was almost 400,000 more than the previous leader VOD.pl, operated by Onet.pl, which had 2.8 million views.
They were followed by Wirtualne Polska’s Orange-wp.tv (2.56 million), TVN’s tvnplayer.pl (1.37 million), TVP’s tvp.pl (0.62 million) and iplex.pl (0.15 million).
Significantly, the study did not take into account all the devices (mobile, consoles, pay-TV deciders and smart TVs) the ipla app can be accessed on.
Redefine, which is wholly owned by Cyfrowy Polsat and operates ipla, estimates these accounted for over 1.5 million viewers.
At present, over 50% of ipla users access the service on ways other than via its website or PC application.
However, the biggest growth in usage in March was seen in the former.
