BT has added another 40,000 customers to its television service, bringing the customer base to 810,000.
The IPTV platform known as BT Vision now sits alongside the enhanced version of the PSB-telco broadband platform YouView – references at Thursday’s launch of BT Sport referred to BT YouView rather than BT Vision.
Last week, Alex Green, director, TV, BT Retail told the DTG Summit that around 10,000 homes are currently receiving the multicast TV channels in addition to those carried on the DTT platform used by BT to provide its linear channels.
211,000 retail fibre broadband customers were added in the quarter to reach around 1.3m customers.
The August launch of the three-channel BT Sport package is designed to bolster the broadband proposition as much as being a supplement to the Vision/YouView services.
