The number of homes using the Croatian company Vipnet’s fixed communication and TV services increased to 172,100 in Q1, with the total being 15.7% more than in the same period in 2012.
Take-up Vipnet’s cable, IPTV and DTH services increased by a combined 10.1% in the quarter compared to a year earlier, while fixed broadband lines increased by 28.6% and fixed telephony by 24.5%.
Vipnet, which is a subsidiary of Telekom Austria, has benefited from the acquisition of RCS&RDS’s DTH platform Digi TV in Croatia earlier this year.
It has recently been re-launched as Vip SAT TV.
Vipnet had revenues of €92.1 million in Q1, while consolidated EBITDA amounted to €29.3 million.
Commenting on the results, Mladen Pejkovic, Cipnet CEO, said: “I’m pleased with the results in the first quarter because an increase in operating profit and in the number of subscribers in the most important categories in the current market conditions is a success.
“With the acquisition of Digi TV and the subsequent recent launch of the Vip SAT TV service, we have successfully continued the strategic development of the company and given new momentum to our business operations.”
