The Romanian regulator ANCOM continues to receive more complaints about RCS&RDS than any other company in the provision of electronic communications services.
In 2012, they accounted for 29% of the total, with the next most criticised being Orange Romania (18%), Romtelecom (17%), Vodafone Romania (14%) and Cosmote RMT (13%).
Things were little changed in the first quarter of this year, with RCS&RDS (25%) again in first place, followed by Cosmote (22%), Romtelecom (18%), Orange (17%) and Vodafone (10%).
Most complaints received by ANCOM – 36% in Q1 this year – are related to contracts with providers, while in terms of categories of electronic communication services the most frequent are about mobile telephony.
ANCOM notes that contracts concluded over the phone (so-called ‘distance contracts’) are a growing concern among complainants.
RCS&RDS is the leading cable and DTH operator in Romania and also has interests in several other CEE countries.
