Jean-Thierry Augustin has been named as the new chief executive officer of Eurosport. It follows last week’s appointment of Laurent-Eric Le Lay as CEO of TF1 Publicité.
Augustin was managing director, distribution, rights acquisition and development. He has worked at Eurosport for 12 years.
At the same time Philippe Denery has been names as the new chairman of the Eurosport Group. Denery remains executive vice president of TF1 Group Finance
“I’m delighted and proud to step into the leadershop role Laurent-Eric-Ley has handed to me,” said Augustin. “I will carry on with our development strategy to become the strongest sports media brand in Europe, strengthening our position in TV and in digital amongst others, even more today within the context of our new partnership with Discovery”.
Denery has been Chairman of TF1’s audiovisual rights company since 2008 and is also in charge of monitoring the Group’s video activities.
