Swisscom takes TV Everywhere over the border

Swisscom TV EverywhereFrom Monday, April 29, Swisscom customers can access their TV Everywhere service not only in Switzerland, but also everywhere.

This is the first time an IPTV provider takes such a service not only nationwide, but also over the border.

The Swisscom TV-app for iPhone, iPad and Android offers TV Everywhere for over 70 SD channels including a so-called Replay function, which gives access to all programmes broadcast during the past 30 hours.

The Replay service is activated bt 300,000 TV customers and around 80% use the feature regularly.

Customers can also access programmes they recorded during the past 30 days on their network PVR. The EPG of the TV app covers listings of all 300 channels available on the IPTV service as well as information on live sporting events and movies on demand.

Viewers need a broadband connection to access the TV Everywhere service. The Replay function is available on channels including BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Three, BBC Four, Channel 4 from the UK

German channels with Replay function: SF 1, SF Zwei, ARD, ZDF, RTL, Pro7, Sat1, VOX, 3+, RTL 2, Kabel 1, ORF eins, ORF 2, Arte D, 3sat Schweiz, Sixx, RTL Nitro, BR, SWR, Joiz, Super RTL, KiKa, WDR, MDR, NDR, DMAX, i-concerts

French channels included in the service: RTS Un, RTS Deux, TF1 CH, France 2, France 3, France 4, France 5, M6 CH, Arte F, TV8 Mont Blanc, NT1, Direct8, NRJ12, France 24, TV5 Monde Europe, TV5 Monde FBS, BFM TV, BFM Business, Liberty TV, Rouge TV

And Italian channels with Replay function: RSI La 1, RSI La 2, Rai 1, Rai 2, Rai 3, Rai 4, Italia 1, Rete 4, Canale 5, La 7, Cielo, Canale Italia, Tele Lombardia, Iris, La 5R, La 7d, Rai Storia, Rai News, Boing.

In a related development, Swisscom also said it will add five HD channels from the RTL Group to its line-up: RTL, RTL II, Vox, Super RTL and RTL Nitro.
