Pace secures Horizon contract

April 24, 2013 11.15 Europe/London By Julian Clover

8005698157_ccc7a736da_zPace is expected to be confirmed as the second supplier of Horizon products to Liberty Global.

In a financial update, the company said it had been selected by Liberty Global “to provide Media Server products to a number of their operations in Europe”.

Initial deliveries of the next generation Horizon receivers have been supplied by Samsung. Pace told Broadband TV News that the new deal was the continuation of the long-term relationship between Liberty Global and Pace, a further example of the new product category being deployed beyond North America.

Liberty Global has not yet responded to a request for comment.

Pace’s media server products have already been deployed by DirecTV and Comcast, while a recent deal was announced with Get in Norway.

In his management statement for the first 16 weeks of the year, chairman Allan Leighton said profitability remained in line with expectations.

“I am pleased to report that Pace has made an encouraging start to the new financial year with strong revenue growth in the period, in line with our expectations. We expect revenue for H1 2013 will be ahead of H1 2012, driven largely by continuing demand for Media Server products in North America and the comparative half being impacted by Hard Disk Drive supply disruption.

Revenues for 2013 expected to be broadly in line with 2012.
