Shareholders at Portuguese cablenet ZON and the mobile operator Optimus are expecting a swift decision from the competition authority Autoridade da Concorrência (AdC) in the merger request from the two companies.
The Comissão do Mercado de Valores Mobiliários (CVMVM) has accepted a request to exempt the shareholders from launching a formal takeover bid.
Approval for the merger has already been forthcoming from the communications regular Anacom.
