Digitalb opts for Quadrille solution

April 16, 2013 21.23 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

DigitalbThe leading Albanian digital pay-TV provider Digitalb has chosen Quadrille’s Quadrifast solution to deploy VOD and catch-up TV services to its subscribers.

Quadrifast is an off-the-shelf, end-to-end solution that allows video content to be pushed over satellite and terrestrial networks to a Digitalb set-top box with an external hard disk, to be then offered on demand to Digitalb subscribers.

Commenting on the deployment, Xavier Battas, Quadrille’s CEO, said: “We are very proud to team up with Digitalb to launch its new pay TV offer based on innovative value added services such as Push-VOD.

QuadriFastTM has been seamlessly integrated into Digitalb’s existing infrastructure allowing an easy and fast deployment.”

Altin Petre, CTO of Digitalb, added: “Setting up a Push-VOD solution can be complex. Fortunately, QuadriFastTM makes it easy: easy to integrate in our infrastructure, easy to use for our teams. I’m sure our subscribers will appreciate the quality of viewing that only a Push-Content system such as QuadriFastTM can provide.”

Alban Jaho, general manager of Digitalb, continued: “We want to provide the best services to our subscribers and VOD is definitely one of them.

“With the Quadrille solution, we offer VOD to all of our subscribers, connected or not, and make it as easy as watching TV. This is a real key benefit of our new Set-top-box: the Flybox.

Digitalb began broadcasting in 2004 and currently has 300,000 digital satellite and 100,000 DTT subscribers.

Quadrille, on the other hand, is a French high tech company focused on digital TV solutions.
