German transmitter company Media Broadcast is now switching on its hybrid TV service Multithek in Munich, Bremen and North-Rhine-Westphalia.
The HbbTV portal works on any compatible TV set with a DVB-T tuner and a broadband internet connection with at least 2Mbps access speed.
The Multitek offers an EPG as well as content from over 30 providers, including public broadcasters ARD and ZDF, stern.de and music television channel Qtom as well as home shopping, weather information and more.
“Since its launch in February, the development of Multithek progresses very successfully,” said Daniel Klein Bauer, director of product management for hybrid TV, Media Broadcast.
“With the continuous expansion of the coverage area and an increasing focus on regional and local content the multithek is a future-oriented multimedia platform for customers and content partners.”
The multithek is operated in cooperation with NetRange. At the moment, the TV portal is only available via DVB-T, but Media Broadcast expects top provide the service on other platforms (cable, satellite, IPTV) in the near future.
