Viasat is to add three HD channels to its offer in Lithuania.
VZ reports that two of the channels – the documentary Viasat Explorer HD and Viasat History HD – will make their debuts on May 2 and the third, Sky Sports News HD, on May 20.
Quoting an SES survey, it adds that last year 5%, or around 60,000, households in Lithuania had HDTVs.
However, another 14%, or around 180,000, plan to watch HD channels in the near future.
Significantly, Viasat is contributing to the growth of HD in Lithuania by offering its services only with HD receivers, which it has been providing free of charge since the beginning of this year.
