MIPTV 2013 – Cannes. Euronews is joining the DStv Family and Compact packages, becoming available to almost 3.5 million customers in South Africa from April 9.
Euronews was launched in South Africa seven years ago, but onky as part o a premium package. The first distribution agreement on DStv was concluded for the channel by Paris-based international distributor Thema. On behalf of Euronews, Thema is in charge of relations with the main African cable and satellite operators.
Arnaud Verlhac, deputy director worldwide distribution at Euronews, said:” I am proud to announce this new proof of confidence by MultiChoice. Over the last 7 years, we have been working closer and closer together. The consequence of this collaboration is a substantial increase of our presence in South Africa, Africa’s leading television market.”
