Streaming live video portal Zattoo plans an app for upc cablecom’s Horizon platform in the near future.
The Horizon app from Zattoo will offer upc cabelcom customers access to the portal’s Recall service, which allows catch-up TV functionality for all (!) channels up to seven days ago.
People can scroll back on the EPG and will have personalised TV tips. Zattoo and the cable operartor did not say when the new app will be launched.
“With Horizon, we offer third-parties an attractive way to deliver their services directly into the living rooms of our customers. I welcome Zattoo as one of the first Swiss service providers on Horizon and I look forward to soon introduce more services via apps on Horizon,” said Koen Verwee, VP marketing and products upc cablecom, in a statement.
“Zattoo’ will bring upc cablecom customers a real value-added service to the TV set,” commented Joerg Meyer, VP, content and consumer, Zattoo, on the planned cooperation.
“Thanks to Recall Horizon users won’t have to miss any programme with up to seven days access to all past TV shows.”
The Zattoo app for Horizon will of course not offer any streaming live channels to the TV set.
