MTG has signed a contract with the Latvian Electronic Communications Association (LEKA) and Electronic Communications Merchants Association (ESKA) for the TV distribution rights for TV3 and LNT.
According to DB, this was necessary in the light of changes to the Electronic Media Act that came into effect on April 1 and will allow MTG to charge cable operators for retransmitting the channels.
MTG now has contracts in place with Baltcom ands Izzi, the two leading cable operators in Latvia, as well as LAT and the two associations.
