French channel distributor Thema has chosen Eutelsat for the distribution of the international version of Television of Cape Verde.
Using the Eutelsat W2A at 10 degrees East, TCV International will be available in Africa and Europe.
Thema has installed a play-out on the island for the international channel as well an uplink to the satellite.
Thema said “the result of this ambitious project is to offer Cape Verdean immigrated communities the possibility to keep a link with their roots and to pass on their beautiful traditions.”
After having identified communities’ locations worldwide and markets where ethnic offers are booming, Thema has started commercial negotiations with operators.
Upcoming launches are to be scheduled in Portugal (the main land of immigrated Cape Verdians in Europe), and will be supported by tailored communication and marketing plans.
More about the project can be found in the interview with François Thiellet, CEO, Thema, in Broadband TV News passim.
