Sky Deutschland will introduce a Sky+ box with a 2TB hard drive on March 26, according to Matthias Hahn, the company’s head of commercial distribution.
He added that almost a third of its subscribers now opts for Sky+.
Commenting on Sky Go, Hahn said that the service, which was launched in April 2011, had 33.2 million customer sessions last year alone.
Available on multiple platforms, it is now the leading OTT pay-TV service in both Germany and Austria.
Hahn also said that Sky Guide, a state of the art EPG that combines the linear with on demand experience, has been available to Sky Go viewers since last month.
Sky Deutschland itself has seen strength growth in subscriber numbers in the last two years, adding nearly 360,000 in both 2011 and 2012 and ending the latter with 3.363 million.
It has been boosted by exclusive broadcasting rights, being the market leader in HD channels (64 currently in its offer, with more to come), differentiation (Sky+, Sky Anytime, Sky Go, Sky 3D) and its availability via satellite, cable, internet, mobile device and IPTV, with access to almost every household in Germany and Austria.
