PRAGUE BUSINESS BREAKFAST – The DTH platform freeSAT will add Travel Channel HD to its offer on May 1.
Furthermore, according to Magnus Ternsjö, MD of UPC Broadband’s DTH business UPC DTH, it will also include the channels Dajto and Prima Zoom in the near future.
Ternsjö also said that UPC DTH plans to focus increasingly on the Czech Republic and Slovakia, where it operates freeSAT.
It also has a presence in the DTH markets in Hungary (UPC Direct) and Romania (Focus Sat) and saw its subscriber total grow from 533,000 at the end of 2010 to 630,000 in 2011 and 719,000 as of the December 31 last year.
Ternsjö was of the view that sport makes its offer a stand out product, with Sport 2 HD the “channel to watch” and being only available on freeSAT and UPC cable.
