TVP launches HbbTV news apps

March 8, 2013 10.13 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

TVP WarsawThe Polish public broadcaster TVP is officially making its three most popular news-based programmes available via HbbTV from today (March 8).

Wiadomosci, its flagship news bulletin, is being offered in a much more detailed version than that currently seen on its first channel TVP1 and now includes six thematic blocks entitled Business, Variety, Most Important, Poland, World and Editorial.

The fast-paced information programme Teleexpress meanwhile has five new blocks – Most Interesting, Crazy, Range, Tele-Hit and Contact with Editorial – in its app version, and the app for Panorama, the most popular news programme on TVP2, includes a forum for the presentation of surveys and questionnaires and the new categories Poland, World, Culture and About Us.

TVP is one of the pioneers of HbbTV in Central and Eastern Europe, having launched its first apps ahead of Euro 2012, co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine, last summer.
