CABLE CONGRESS 2013 – LONDON. Ono has come to stand for high-speed broadband services in Spain, according to Rosalia Portela, the company’s CEO.
Speaking in the opening panel discussion View from the top, she said that services, which Ono had launched two and a half years ago, “have made a big difference to us.” Portela added although the company is still “very new to mobile”, Spain has one of the highest smartphone penetrations in Europe and 15% of Ono’s base is already using its mobile service.
Commenting on the Spanish market in general, she said that customers have now become very price sensitive. As a result, “you have to do better than others” and “offer unique products.”
The real change is with customers “wanting to have access to services everywhere.” This presents a real challenge to Ono.
However, despite the market becoming more complex it remains very confident with its technology and team.
